Sportsperson of the Month

Each month one of our talented young athletes is recognised for their achievements as our Sportsperson of the Month. The monthly winners are announced at our end of term formal assemblies and will be added to this page as announced. At the end of each year one of the monthly award winners is then crowned as our Sportsperson of the Year at the Talented Sports Program Awards Night.

The awards are sponsored this year by Body Sciencewho will provide gift vouchers to our monthly winners and a major prize for the eventual Sportsperson of the Year. Thanks to Body Science (BSc) for their generous support of our students and our school.

JANUARY 2018: Ky Faber (Year 9)

Ky is a member of Hunter Sports High's Basketball program. At the start of this year he was selected in the NSW Country U16 basketball team. His strong performances for the NSW team saw him selected in the Australian Country U16 basketball team that recently toured New Zealand. Congratulations Ky!

FEBRUARY 2018: Annalee Grove (Year 11)

Annalee has been a regular winner of our Sportsperson of the Month awards over the last two years. A football goalkeeper, she is a member of the Newcastle Jets Academy U19 squad. Annalee was recently selected to attend a week-long training camp for the Young Matildas Australian U20 women's football team, a week which culminated with a game against the Thailand U20 women's team that the Aussie girls won 2-1. Congratulations Annie!

MARCH 2018: Kirsty Fenton (Year 9)

Kirsty was also selected for the Young Matildas U20 women's national team training camp, a first for this talented footballer. At only 14 years of age and in Year 9 at school, this is a remarkable achievement. Kirsty came off the bench to help the Australian team defeat Thailand 2-1. An amazing effort for someone so young. Congratulations Kirsty!

Having already claimed Olympic and World Championship medals over the last two years, she added a Commonwealth Games silver medal to her collection during Term 2. Congratulations Erin!
