2019 SPORTSPERSON OF THE YEAR - KIRSTY FENTON

Each month one of our talented young athletes is recognised for their achievements as our Sportsperson of the Month. The monthly winners are announced at our end of term formal assemblies and will be added to this page as awarded. At the end of each year one of the monthly award winners is announced as our Sportsperson of the Year at our annual Sports Academy Awards Night.
Kaia is a member of Hunter Sports High's Basketball Academy. He was selected in the NSW Men's Under 20 team at just 17 years of age. In December he was selected to attend a 7-day camp at the Australian Institute of Sport after being identified as one of the best players for his age in Australia. This year he has been selected in the 2021 Hunter Region team. Congratulations Kaia!
Jesse is a member of our Girls Rugby League Academy. Last year she signed a four-year contract with the Newcastle Knights. Jesse was selected in the NSW Under 17 Rugby U nion 7's team and recently played in four matches against Queensland. Well done Jesse!
A long-term member of our Football Academy and the Newcastle Jets Academy, Chloe has also been selected in the Junior Matilda's National Squad for an upcoming camp. She helped our Open Girls Football team beat Endeavour Sports High 5-1 in a match in Sydney in Term 1. Congratulations Chloe!
